Ingredient

Zinc for immunity, skin and healing, delivered by live probiotics.

An essential trace mineral that strengthens immune defence, speeds skin repair, and supports gut integrity.

What it is

Zinc is an essential trace mineral involved in over 300 enzyme processes in your body. Supplement formulas combine easily absorbed zinc forms (like zinc picolinate) with friendly bacteria to support your immune system, skin renewal, and digestive barrier strength.

Also known as: Zinc Gluconate, Zinc Picolinate, Zinc Citrate, Zinc Oxide

Key benefits

  • Supports immune cell activity, helping your body respond to seasonal bugs.
  • Strengthens tight junctions in your gut lining, keeping your digestive barrier solid.
  • Promotes collagen and keratin (the protein your hair and nails are made of) production, supporting healthy skin, hair, and nails.
  • Assists cell growth and tissue repair, helping small cuts and blemishes mend.

Amplified by probiotics

Zinc and probiotics form a powerful team in your gut. Helpful friendly bacteria from the yoghurt family create an acidic environment that keeps zinc soluble and easy to absorb. Probiotics also break down plant compounds that would otherwise bind zinc. In return, zinc supports the health of friendly gut bacteria and strengthens your gut wall.

Typical dose

11–25 mg/day (elemental zinc)

The evidence

Evidence: strong

Extensive clinical studies show that zinc supports immune defence, speeds skin and tissue repair, and strengthens the gut lining (Wessels I, et al. 2017, Nutrients; Prasad AS. 2013, Adv Nutr; Skrovanek S, et al. 2014, World J Gastrointest Pathophysiol).

Safety & who should check first

Safe within standard daily levels (up to 40 mg elemental zinc per day). High doses taken for a long time can lower your copper levels, so keep the dose balanced. Speak to a doctor if taking prescription antibiotics.
