Sage Leaf Extract

A traditional herb that helps calm hot flashes, ease night sweats, and support mental clarity.

What it is

Sage Leaf Extract comes from the aromatic leaves of the Mediterranean sage plant (Salvia officinalis). Long valued in traditional health, sage is packed with natural plant compounds (polyphenols) antioxidants like rosmarinic acid. In menopause formulas, sage helps regulate your body's internal thermostat and supports mental focus without using synthetic hormones.

Also known as: Salvia officinalis, Sage Extract

Key benefits

  • Reduces the frequency and severity of hot flashes and night sweats, keeping you cool.
  • Supports memory, focus, and mental sharpness, helping you stay clear-headed throughout the day.
  • Delivers rich plant compounds antioxidants, which protect your cells against everyday stress.

Amplified by probiotics

Sage's powerful plant antioxidants need help from friendly gut bacteria to be fully broken down and absorbed. Live probiotics produce natural lactic acid that protects sage nutrients as they pass through your stomach. Probiotics also maintain a strong gut lining, ensuring these herbal compounds enter your bloodstream to support temperature control and brain focus.

Typical dose

100–300 mg/day (extract made to a consistent strength)

The evidence

Evidence: moderate

Human studies show that daily sage leaf extract cuts hot flash frequency by half in four weeks and up to 64% in eight weeks for menopausal women (Bommer et al. 2011, Adv Ther). Thinking and memory studies also demonstrate noticeable improvements in focus and memory (Lopresti 2017, Drugs R D).
