Ingredient

Magnesium for calm muscles and better sleep, delivered by live probiotics.

An essential mineral that relaxes muscles, supports nervous system balance, and powers daily cellular energy.

What it is

Magnesium is a vital mineral your body needs for over 300 daily chemical reactions. It is essential for muscle function, nerve health, and turning food into energy.

In Velobiotics supplements, magnesium comes in highly absorbable forms (such as magnesium glycinate or citrate) combined with micro-shielded probiotics for enhanced absorption and muscle recovery.

Also known as: Magnesium Oxide, Magnesium Glycinate, Magnesium Citrate

Key benefits

  • Powers cellular energy production so you feel energised throughout the day.
  • Helps muscles contract and relax smoothly, easing muscle cramps and spasms.
  • Calms the nervous system to promote relaxation, mental balance, and better sleep.
  • Supports strong bones and teeth alongside calcium.

Amplified by probiotics

Your body absorbs magnesium in the lower intestine. Friendly probiotic bacteria ferment plant fibres into nourishing compounds, which lower gut acidity. This acid environment frees magnesium ions so your gut cells can absorb them much more easily. Probiotics also produce natural enzymes that release magnesium bound to plant compounds in food, maximising the magnesium your body gets.

Typical dose

200–400 mg/day (elemental magnesium)

The evidence

Evidence: strong

Many human trials show that taking magnesium improves muscle function, sleep quality, stress resilience and bone health. Chelated forms (glycinate and citrate, where the mineral is bound to an amino acid) are the ones your body absorbs best. Safety & who should check first

Tolerable Upper Intake Level for supplemental magnesium is 350 mg/day of elemental magnesium (to avoid loose stools). High doses should be used cautiously in kidney impairment. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist first if you have kidney problems.
